Self-proclaimed "old meets new" Irish folk band, MacCana at their monthly Mahoney's performance. The band is made up of the Four McCann brothers (Terry, Colin Brendan and Ryan) and close friend Dave Cafasso.
Brendan McCann belts it into the microphone during one of the band's original songs. Over the course of the night, the audience heard a mix of traditional Irish folk songs and the new material written by the band.
Lead singer Terry McCann plays the mandolin as well as guitar, banjo, and the tin whistle. As the lead, Terry had the dual job of preforming and entertaining the crowd with jokes and stories between songs.
Honorary McCann brother, Dave Cafasso plays the tin whistle during an upbeat, traditional song.
Colin McCann plays the drums while catching the improvisation cues from his brothers. Comfortable in front of crowd family and friends, The band was known that night for spontaneously adding names and stories to their set list.
During the last song of the set, Brendan sings along with his brother, Terry. It was also Brendan's daughter's fifth birthday that night. In between sets, the entire crowd sang as she got to blow out her candles.
